Creative Ways To Spread The Gospel

As believers, one of our responsibilities is to spread the gospel.

However, spreading the gospel doesn’t have to be limited to us moving about the streets with a microphone in hand.

Of course, that’s a nice and bold approach.

But then, we could infuse a lot of creativity into this so that more people are inspired and reached.

What does it mean to spread the gospel?

Preaching the gospel means letting the world know of God’s goodness.

You want to enlighten unbelievers about our beliefs that they are not aware of.

If you walked around the streets today and asked one or two people about their beliefs about God, you would hear many things.

Some believe God has no interest in them. While some believe they can never be forgiven of their sins.

All of these beliefs are wrong. We must go out there, so people will have their minds renewed with the truth and their lives can be changed.

Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

~2 Timothy 4:2~

Spreading the gospel is like training a little child.

We can help people stop bad habits and behaviors by rebuking and then encouraging them by giving them counsel through the bible.

You need to tell the unbeliever that God is willing to have a relationship with them, regardless of their past.  That’s encouragement.

When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Be Humble, Gentle, Patient and Loving

While doing that, you have to be careful not to push too hard.

The Bible tells us to be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

We have to look at the person we are ministering to the same way God looks at them.

The person we are sharing the word with could try to argue endlessly or set up boundaries.

You just have to be intentional and loving when telling them about God’s word.

You also should give instructions carefully and gently so that they are not hurt in the process.

As children of God, we must preach the gospel at all times. Even through our character and behavior.

It shows that we are aware of the burden that’s always on God’s heart.

He desires that all men be saved.

If we truly love God, we would care about the things that He cares about.

We would be more deliberate in reaching out to others, knowing that we are doing what God’s will is for His children.

We Do Not Go Alone

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

~Acts 1:8~

The Holy Spirit will guide us as we are evangelizing. We are not doing this alone.

You don’t have to struggle with the words to say to an unbeliever.

As long as we depend on the Holy Spirit, we will say exactly what that person needs to hear.

Then they would be broken and willing to surrender to Christ.

Remember, the Spirit of God knows the details we do not know of.

What is an evangelist?

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am always with you always, to the very end of the age.

~Matthew 28:19~

An evangelist is an individual that is genuinely devoted to the spreading of the gospel.

He or she goes out into the world, preaches the gospel, finds disciples for Jesus, baptizes these disciples in the name of the father, son, and Holy Spirit, and may even continue to teach them the word.

But just to be clear one person does not have to do everything.  We each can play a part in the process of a new believer.

This whole process can be like the nurturing of a little plant.

A little seedling needs to be watered and cared for until it grows into a big plant that can withstand adverse weather conditions.

So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.

~1 Corinthians 3:7~

Another definition of an evangelist is someone that goes about the world declaring the goodness of God.

The more we talk about the good things God has done for us, the more we glorify God.

We declare that he is responsible for our success, healing, victory, favors, etc.

In the process of doing that, someone could hear and get touched. And then, they decide to seek after our God too.

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

~Psalm 96:3~

We are ambassadors of Christ

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…

~1 Peter 3:15~

Evangelism means we are Ambassadors for Christ.

People have several questions to ask about the situations they have found themselves in.

We can stand in the gap and with the help of the Holy Spirit, give answers to these people.

While answering their questions, we can also share our personal experiences.

Here are some ideas for creative evangelism

Create a Christian blog

you can reach many people by sharing your faith with people around the world. You never know the impact your writing will have on someone.

Start a Bible study group

invite people to join you in a study group.  There are so many bible studies available online that you can do with your group.

Be friendly with everyone

try to give a big smile to all those you come in contact with as you are shopping or running errands.  You can strike up a conversation and then share a word of encouragement.

Use social media as a tool of evangelism

this is another way you can reach people all around the world.  Try to create content that introduces your faith to someone.

Hand out devotional tracts to people you meet

Our Daily Bread is an excellent way to hand out devotionals.  The best part is that you can order as many as you need for free or a nominal donation.

Share your testimony

the best way to encourage others around you is to share your testimony.  There could be someone around you that is going through a situation that you overcame. Knowing that you made it through with Jesus could make a huge difference in their life.

  3. Yes! As Christians, we are all called to share the gospel. My focus this year has been on Biblical Hospitality and loving my neighbors. I find that getting to know them and asking lots of questions has opened many doors for evangelism that isn’t pushy or intimidating.
