How to Prepare for the End of Times

There is a lot of talk about how to prepare for the end of times.  This conversation is not new but because of all the uncertainty it has become mainstream.

We should all be prepared for whatever is coming for this country and this world.  There is not one person that will not be affected for what’s to come.

Whether you are concerned about natural disasters, economic collapse, or societal breakdown, being prepared can make a significant difference.

From stockpiling food and water to developing survival skills, there are various ways to prepare for the end of times.

However, there is more emphasis on stockpiling goods instead of keeping our lampstands lit.

Understand the End Times Prophecy

It’s important to recognize that the Bible is filled with warnings about the end times.

We must pay attention to these signs and align our lives with the teachings of scripture.

By doing so, we can better prepare ourselves for the challenges that lie ahead.

The end times refers to significant turmoil and catastrophic events that will lead to the end of civilization as we know it.

The message is clear: there will come a time when we will face challenges that require careful preparation.

Are We In The Last Days Now?

As we look to the Bible for guidance on preparing spiritually for the last days, it becomes evident that there are signs and prophecies that point to the nearing of the end times.

These signs include wars and rumors of wars, natural disasters, the rise of false prophets, and a decline in morality.

We see this happening today all around us.

As believers we need to be aware of these signs so we can discern the times and take steps to draw closer to God.

By understanding and heeding these warnings, we can better equip ourselves for what is to come.

What we are witnessing should serve as a wake-up call for us to prioritize our relationship with God and live out our faith with conviction.

Signs of The End Times in Matthew 24

The disciples asked Jesus for the signs of His coming and of the end of the age.

Jesus was very specific when he gave them a list of things to look out for.

During these uncertain times it is safe to say that we are witnessing many of these things now.

  • False messiahs –  Jesus warns about false messiahs claiming to be Him.
  • Wars and rumors of wars –  The presence of conflicts and the threat of wars globally.
  • Famines and earthquakes – There are many natural disasters around the world.  Our food supply is being affected.
  • Persecution of believers – Followers of Christ facing opposition and persecution.
  • Many will turn away from the faith – Churches have seen a drop in attendance.
  • Many false prophets will deceive many – We see this all around the world.
  • The love of most will grow cold – So much violence, crime and division.

The good news is that the one that stands firm to the end will be saved.

This is where our preparation comes in.

The Importance Of Preparing For The End Times

Let Pharaoh appoint commissioners over the land to take a fifth of the harvest of Egypt during the seven years of abundance.  They should collect all the food of these good years that are coming and store up the grain under the authority of Pharaoh, to be kept in the cities for food. This food should be held in reserve for the country, to be used during the seven years of famine that will come upon Egypt, so that the country may not be ruined by the famine.

Genesis 41:34-36

We all know the story of Joseph in Genesis.

He was able to interpret Pharaoh’s dream about the upcoming famine; then he gave instructions on how to prepare during the time of abundance.

Pharaoh liked Joseph’s plan and put him in charge of everything in Egypt.

His plan worked because he had discernment and was led by the Spirit of God.

They were able to save food during times of plenty to prepare for times of lack.

Because of Joseph’s wise preparation, Egypt was able to supply the needs of many people that were dealing with the famine.

The Consequences of Not Being Prepared

The story of the ten virgins is a prime example of the importance of preparation.

All ten virgins fell asleep while waiting for the bridegroom.

The word says that He was delayed.  Then all of a sudden He shows up in the middle of the night.

We do not know the hour or the day so we need to make sure we have everything in order.

The foolish virgins tried to take oil from the wise virgins but they were not having it.

So the foolish virgins went to buy oil but when they returned it was too late.  The wise virgins were already inside with the bridegroom.

They tried to get in but the bridegroom said he did not know them.  Ouch!

The last thing we want to hear is our Lord and Savior say that He never knew us.

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers.

Matthew 7:21-23

Conclusion

Being prepared for the end times is not about fear but about faith, not about predicting the date but living with purpose as we wait.

Stay close to God, build your life on His love, surround yourself with a supportive community and share the good news.

Keep the conversation going with prayer, wisdom, and a generous heart.

Trusting in the One who holds our future.

Bible Verses About End Times

  • Matthew 24:36 – But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
  • Revelation 22:20 – He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:2 – For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.
  • 2 Timothy 3:1-5 – But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
  • Matthew 24:14 – And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come
