6 Ways to Grow Your Faith in God

Let’s discuss the many ways to grow Your faith in God. Its not a one-size-fits-all process but there are some things that you can do to help develop and grow your faith.

Faith is believing that something will happen even though there is no proof. It is trusting in God for guidance and protection.

It can be difficult to maintain faith in difficult times; but as you grow, your faith will grow too.

He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.

How to Grow in Faith

We will explore different ways that you can grow your faith in God.

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

(Romans 10:17)

Focus on God’s Purpose

In order to grow our faith in God, we need to understand how we came into relationship with Him. This means understanding who He is and why He exists.

God’s purpose and desire is to have a relationship with you. He wants to be in your life.

To know Him. To spend time with Him. To learn about Him. To worship Him.

If we want to grow our faith in Him, we must be willing to change our ways.

As Christians, we believe that Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. Because of His death, we are forgiven of our sins and given eternal life.

We need to develop confidence that He loves us even when we fail to live up to His expectations.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him (1 John 3:1)

Trust God’s Word

You can grow your faith when you read the word daily and learn who God is.

If we truly believe that God has given us His word as a guide for life, then we should trust Him with our lives.

We should not try to make sense out of something we cannot fully comprehend.

Instead, we should simply accept that God knows what He is doing and that He will never lead us astray.

As we read the bible, we must be mindful to apply what we are learning.  Applying the principles in the bible will change our lives forever.

But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. (Jeremiah 17:7)

Be Grateful For God’s Provision

This week, if there was one thing you could be grateful for right now, write it down.

Whatever it is, use this time to reflect on his goodness.   God has promised to provide everything we need.

This will definitely help you grow your faith, knowing that He will always be there for you and provide for you.

God is always kind and loving towards us. He does not wish for us to suffer and He will always be there to help us in times of trouble.

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

(Philippians 4:19)

Make Prayer Part of Our Lifestyle

Prayer is an important part of your spiritual life. As you pray, thank God for his gifts and blessings and ask for guidance in your life.

Its a way of talking to God about your thoughts and feelings. You can pray about anything that is on your mind.

Prayers are an effective way to keep God at the center of your life.

Pray without ceasing

(1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Keep Like Minded People Around You

Another way to grow your faith is to spend time with others who share your beliefs. This can give you encouragement and inspiration.

It also makes you accountable and you can lift each other up.

Having the right people around you can really help with your faith, because you know where they are coming from.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

(Acts 2:42)

Look For Ways to Serve Those in Need

Another way to grow your faith is by doing good deeds. When you help others, you are showing people the Jesus that lives in you.

You are also showing that you are willing to obey His commands by showing love.

Its very rewarding to serve others especially those that are in need.  As you are serving you can feel His presence all around you.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

(1 Peter 4:10)

How Do We Show Our Faith?

Faith grows stronger when we are bold enough to show it to others.

We need to speak words of faith into the situations we face. Faith over fear!

This bold vision of faith, when we believe it, should encourage others and should definitely strengthen our own faith.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)

Paul says that we are “the Letter” so that people around us can See Christ in us.

We show our faith to those around us by persevering through trials and still praising God.
