Can God Really Lead Us To Safety

Living in a world full of conflict sometimes creates fear in the hearts of many.

In a world of violence, immorality, and conflict Christians often find themselves hanging on the edge of a cliff, reasoning between the choices of fighting evil, or hiding in our caves.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. ~2 Timothy 1:7~

Do not be timid and fearful

We are called to be bold as a lion. Yet, we see everything that is happening around us and we are afraid for our safety.

We must understand that fear does not come from God.

When we develop the ability to truly trust God and develop a relationship with Him the feeling of fear subsides.

You begin feeling His peace take over.  Faith is truly the opposite of fear.

It does not mean that there will never be a moment of fear in a righteous person’s life; fear is a natural, human emotion.

Our confidence in the Lord is what conquers fear and gives us hope.

As Christians, we must remember that we are not alone. We have a Father who loves us and cares for us. He has promised to never leave nor forsake us.

The Spirit of Power

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth ~Acts 1:8~

The Holy Spirit gives us a power unlike anything else in this world because it’s not of this world.

This power leads us and guides us in our walk with Christ to go through the narrow path.

It’s the power to remain steadfast and stand firm on the word; not to be tempted or concerned with the cares of this world.

God did not leave us here on earth to work things out on our own. He gave us a counselor and a helper.

It’s up to us to learn how to tap in through reading the word.

The Spirit of Love

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. ~1 John 4:16~

The bible says that God is love. We know that He loved us so much that He gave Jesus to us as a sacrifice for our salvation.

It’s so profound that even though we know what the scriptures say, we could never understand the depth of that love.

We were given that same spirit of love but you would never know, when you just look at the current state of this world.

This is why we cannot see those around us with our natural eyes but we have to look at them with our spiritual eyes.

We sing the worship song “Break my heart for what breaks yours”… but do we truly mean that?

The things that break God’s heart are broken out of love.

It’s something for us to think about when we pass by someone on the street that needs to know about God’s love for them.

The Spirit of Self-Discipline

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it ~Hebrews 12:11~

God wants us to be able to make the right decisions and be confident; where fear is replaced by our faith in Him.

Knowing that He is there with us every step of the way.

We need to be disciplined in reading the word and applying it to our lives.

The enemy is prowling around looking for those he can devour so we need to be prepared with our swords.

Abstaining from temptation and not using our freedom in Christ as an excuse to do whatever we want.  That is self-discipline.

How does God Lead Us To Safety?

God sends His Angels

My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God ~Daniel 6:22-23~

If God did it then, He will do it again! He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

God does lead us to safety, but we have a big part in that too.

If we believe and trust in Him, then we believe His word is so powerful and it is at work for us today.

His angels encamps around us and delivers us!

A Hedge of Protection

Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. ~Job 1:10~

We also can and should pray for a hedge of protection around us and our precious loved ones.

When the enemy wanted to get at Job, he knew that Job was protected by God.  Even Satan understands how powerful it is to be under God’s protection.

Job was blameless and upright, he feared God and shunned evil.

Are we willing to be like Job? In the good or bad times, will you still honor God?

Covered Under His Wing

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence, He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day ~Psalms 91:2-5~

This scripture says it all right here.  No matter what is happening around you God is there for you.

It all comes down to trusting Him enough that nothing around you will phase you.

Just brush it off your shoulders.

Covered By The Blood of The Lamb

The blood shall be a sign for you, on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt. ~Exodus 12:13~

The Israelites were protected by the blood that was painted over their homes.

In the same way, we are blessed by the washing of our robes in the blood of the lamb.

The lamb is Jesus, who shed His blood for our sins.  There is no greater protection than that.

God will stand by his word and promises of protection and safety, but we have to do our part.

Read and meditate on the word daily and spend time with the Lord in prayer.

I wear many hats; Wife, Mom, Minister, Blogger and Entrepreneur.

It’s not easy juggling everything but with the Grace of God, I can do all things!

My plate is full but my cup runneth over!!
