There Are So Many Practical Ways To Change Your Life For The Better. Many of us feel the need to make a change in our life.
We can often feel like we want to change how we look, how we feel, or even how we react to things.
It could be specific changes such as a new job or even changes to your lifestyle or where you live.
Change is a good thing. Small changes, big changes, or even a difference in routine or lifestyle can make the ultimate difference.
If you feel like there needs to be change on the horizon then I want to share with you all of the ways you can have a positive impact on your life.
Below are a few practical ways to change your life.
Take a Balanced Approach to Your Diet
One of the first things that could have a positive impact on your life is taking a more balanced approach to your diet.
This isn’t about restricting yourself from things or going on a diet to lose weight.
This is all about healthy living and nourishing your body with the food, nutrients, and vitamins it needs to function well.
A balanced diet means all of the food groups in moderation and giving your body what it needs.
Having this balanced approach will increase your energy levels and help you feel better from within.
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)
Be More active and Move Your Body
The more you focus on exercise the better you will feel. However, not everyone is interested in gym sessions or grueling workouts.
If that sounds like you then you can still make exercise a priority. Especially if you sit all day.
You can do this by moving your body more. That might be going for a walk each day, heading out for a run, or even finding an exercise class that is fun and enjoyable.
Putting the focus on moving more will help you to feel more energized.
You can monitor your movements with an app on your phone. It’s a great way to hold yourself accountable everyday.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
Try Embracing Gratitude
Gratitude is so important when it comes to a positive mindset.
One of the most popular ways to begin is to start a gratitude journal.
This means that you make a note of some of the things that you are grateful for that day.
It might be saying thank you for getting to work on time, for hitting a deadline or even saying thank you to friends and family members. Get into the habit of saying thank you.
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Be Mindful of Your Thoughts
It is important for you to be mindful of your thoughts. You can’t always stop a negative thought, but you can choose the thoughts that you focus on.
The more you focus on the positive, the more you can silence those negative thoughts.
This is a great way to change your mindset.
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:5-6)
Take It Slow
Don’t try and make too many changes all at once. When it comes to making positive changes, we can often be guilty of trying to do everything all at once.
Take baby steps and focus on one thing at a time. Whether it’s a good diet, exercising, change of routine, etc.
Once that habit has changed for the better you can then implement new changes.
Desire without knowledge is not good— how much more will hasty feet miss the way! (Proverbs 19:2)
Drink more water
Water is nature’s natural detox, and the more water that you drink, the better you will feel.
Water can improve skin tone, raise energy levels, have you feeling refreshed and also help you sleep better.
If you don’t usually drink enough water try to increase it each day. Keeping water bottles handy can be a great reminder to drink up.
Get More Sleep
Out of all the practical ways to change your life Sleep has to be the top of the list.
Sleep is something that is very important, and getting more sleep can be very beneficial.
So if you struggle to sleep, make it a priority.
Cut out screen time before you go to bed and make it your mission to relax and get an early night. You will feel better about it.
And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. (Mark 6:31)
A digital detox can be a great way to help you feel less overwhelmed.
It means getting rid of apps on your phone, contacts you don’t need, Facebook friends you don’t speak to, and unsubscribing to emails. Or decluttering your pictures on your phone and computers.
The greatest benefit from a digital detox is you can put your focus on other things.
Like spending more quality time with the Lord. He is waiting for you to enter into His presence.
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you….(James 4:8)
Your Peace of Mind is Precious
Your peace of mind is precious, so make sure you surround yourself with people that give off good energy and make you feel good.
Stay away from toxic people. You will thank yourself for it.
We can be intentional with creating peace around us. The first thing we need to do is keep our mind on Jesus.
There is nothing in this world that can provide that type of peace. I mean NOTHING!
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)
